Who We’re Looking For

State Street Alpha is seeking a Vice President, Product Manager to lead strategy and delivery for the next generation of our Enterprise Data Management (EDM) platform services. You’ll shape cloud-native, independently deployable data services that help some of the world’s largest investment firms master, govern and distribute their data at scale.

This role is ideal for a seasoned product leader with 10+ years of experience in data management products and enterprise SaaS platforms. You will own the vision, roadmap and delivery of core capabilities including entity and identifier resolution, reference data management, extensible data models and resilient release management.

This is a hands-on, technical leadership role. You’ll partner closely with engineering, architecture and client teams to turn complex platform challenges into clear requirements, sequenced roadmaps and measurable client value.

Why This Role Is Important to Us

State Street Alpha brings together data and capabilities across the investment lifecycle to help clients make better decisions, grow at scale and deliver returns for their clients. The Alpha Data Platform is a market-leading SaaS platform powering front-to-back investment workflows for global financial institutions.

We are evolving our data management services to be more modular, scalable and flexible to deploy — reaching more clients and simplifying how they adopt and operate our platform. Your leadership will directly shape how we grow our data platform business and deliver faster, safer releases to clients.

What You Will Be Responsible For:

• Own the product strategy, roadmap and business case for a portfolio of foundational EDM platform services.

• Lead product definition for a shared, multi-tenant entity resolution service supporting API, batch and event-driven processing across securities, issuers, accounts and other reference data domains.

• Define requirements for configurable, client-specific matching and resolution rules that work alongside enterprise-wide standards.

• Lead reference data management strategy (e.g., countries, exchanges, currencies) from scoping through delivery.

• Drive a metadata-driven approach to data model extensibility, enabling clients to tailor data models without disrupting platform releases.

• Champion release resiliency so platform services can be upgraded or rolled back independently with minimal client impact.

• Author product requirements and lead structured design reviews with architecture and engineering teams.

• Drive cross-functional alignment across engineering, architecture, operations, client delivery and go-to-market teams, managing dependencies and trade-offs across initiatives.

• Define and track success metrics, and report progress, risks and outcomes to senior leadership.

• Partner with clients, prospects and sales to validate requirements, support market data integrations and position our data platform offerings.

• Mentor product managers and business analysts, building a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of product management experience in enterprise data management, reference data or SaaS data platforms, including ownership of prioritization, trade-offs, timelines and go-to-market execution.

• Deep knowledge of investment data domains (securities, issuers, pricing, portfolios, transactions, corporate actions) and the front-to-back investment lifecycle.

• Hands-on experience with security master, entity resolution, identifier cross-referencing and data lineage.

• Strong technical grounding in cloud-native and microservices architectures, multi-tenant design, metadata-driven data models, and CI/CD and release practices.

• Familiarity with major market data providers (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE, MSCI, FactSet).

• Proven record of leading complex, multi-workstream programs through ambiguity to deliver scalable platform capabilities.

• Executive presence, with the ability to translate technical architecture into clear business value for senior stakeholders and clients.

• Experience with Agile delivery and tools such as Jira and Confluence.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or a related field; MBA, advanced degree, or progress toward CFA or CAIA preferred.

• Experience with investment management platforms such as Charles River IMS is a plus.

• Ability to travel as needed for client engagements, including internationally.
