Join Skyro as IT Operations and Security Lead

We are looking for an IT & Security Lead in Bangladesh to own all IT operations and information security for our market office.

We consider only candidates with an existing right to work in the country where the role is based. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

The role demands equally deep practical expertise in both IT operations and information security.

Required

• Citizen or permanent resident, or holder of an existing unrestricted right to work in Bangladesh.
• Minimum 4–6 years of progressive IT operations / end-user support experience, including at least 1–2 years in a lead, senior, or sole-charge capacity where you were the primary IT decision-maker for a site or market.
• Hands-on network engineering and operations experience is a hard requirement — you will own the office network outright. Demonstrated ownership of routing and switching, VLAN design and segmentation, next-generation firewall administration (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco, or equivalent), site-to-site and remote-access VPN, Wi-Fi controller deployments, and structured cabling standards.
• Strong administration of Microsoft 365 and Entra ID (Azure AD): identity lifecycle, conditional access, MFA, licensing, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Intune/MDM.
• Endpoint management across Windows and macOS — imaging, patching, disk encryption, EDR agents, asset lifecycle.
• Proven vendor and contract management: ISPs, hardware suppliers, managed service providers, and local support partners.
• Experience operating within formal ITSM and change management processes (Jira Service Management, Confluence, or equivalent), including incident handling and documentation discipline.
• Experience supporting a regulated environment — financial services, fintech, banking, insurance, or comparable — with exposure to audit and control evidence.
• Professional working proficiency in Bengali and English, written and verbal.
• Ability to work on-site in the Bangladesh office.

Preferred

• Networking certifications: CCNA / CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or Fortinet NSE.
• Microsoft certifications: MD-102, MS-102, AZ-104, or equivalent.
• Security certifications: CompTIA Security+, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, or equivalent.
• Exposure to public cloud administration (AWS or GCP) at an operations level — IAM, VPC networking, VPN interconnect.
• Scripting for automation of routine IT tasks (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
• Prior experience as the first or only IT hire in a market, standing up an office from scratch.

Responsibilities

End-user support & IT operations

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT support requests in Bangladesh, owning resolution end-to-end.
• Provision, configure, and support laptops, desktops, peripherals, mobile devices, and meeting-room equipment.
• Manage the local ticket queue, set and meet response and resolution targets, and report on service quality.
• Support both on-site and remote staff across all business functions.
• Define and enforce local IT standards, and act as the authority on IT matters for the market.

Network operations

• Own the design, implementation, and day-to-day operation of the office network end-to-end.
• Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure; manage VLANs, segmentation, and access control.
• Administer perimeter security: firewall policy, NAT, IDS/IPS, content filtering, and secure remote access.
• Operate site-to-site and client VPN connectivity to Skyro's other markets and to cloud environments.
• Monitor network performance and availability; investigate and resolve connectivity, latency, and capacity issues.
• Manage ISP and circuit relationships, including redundancy, failover testing, and bandwidth planning.
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, IP address management, and configuration backups.

Infrastructure & systems

• Administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and MDM for users — identity, access, licensing, and device compliance.
• Maintain local server, storage, and backup infrastructure where present, including restore testing.
• Support office physical infrastructure: power, UPS, cabling, access control, and CCTV as applicable.
• Coordinate with global SRE, Platform, and Security teams on shared systems and cross-market initiatives.

Vendor & asset management

• Source, evaluate, and manage local IT vendors, service providers, and contractors.
• Own procurement for IT hardware, software, and services within approved budget and policy.
• Maintain a complete and accurate IT asset register covering the full lifecycle from purchase to disposal.
• Track contracts, renewals, and licence entitlements, and flag commercial risks to the Head of Cloud & Operations.

Compliance & governance

• Enforce IT and network security policies across all local endpoints and infrastructure.
• Own onboarding/offboarding for staff: account creation, access rights, MDM enrollment, equipment provisioning.
• Ensure secure handling and disposal of IT equipment per data protection standards.
• Assist with Bangladesh-specific compliance.
• Contribute to internal and external audit readiness for IT and network security controls.

Operations & administration

• Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, user guides, and security runbooks.
• Escalate genuinely complex incidents to global IT, Security, or Engineering as needed.
• Lead internal IT and network projects, office expansions, and technology rollouts.
• Provide regular status updates to the Head of Cloud & Operations / CCO.
