Shape the future of Saab IT - Head of commercial & business development

Take on a leadership role at the heart of Saab's digital transformation. As Head of IT Area Commercial & Business Development within Group IT, you will lead and develop the IT services supporting Saab’s Commercial and Business Development Group Functions. You will also lead a Digital Solutions team delivering automation, data and AI solutions across Saab’s Group Functions.

Your mission is to transform the application services, harnessing cloud, AI and automation to simplify processes, improve efficiency and enable new business capabilities. Working closely with business stakeholders, you will shape and drive this transformation while ensuring reliable, secure and effective services today.

Your role

As Head of IT Area Commercial & Business Development, you lead the organisation, people and capabilities responsible for managing and developing services supporting Saab’s Group Functions. Your mission is to ensure that these services meet business needs and agreed service requirements throughout their lifecycle.

A major focus will be establishing clear priorities and service roadmaps together with business stakeholders, balancing day-to-day delivery with improvements, modernisation and cost efficiency. You combine responsibility for reliable, secure and effective application services within Commercial & Business Development with the development and delivery of digital solutions across Group Functions.

You will work closely with business process owners and relevant IT teams to translate business, information security and compliance requirements into effective application services. As part of the Group Function IT management team, you will build strong collaboration with business stakeholders, vendors and partners, ensuring clear responsibilities and aligned priorities. The role requires some travel to meet with your teams, business stakeholders and partners.

In this role, you will

• Lead, develop and engage employees within the area
• Ensure reliable, secure and cost-effective application management and service delivery
• Define and drive service roadmaps and lifecycle plans together with business stakeholders
• Lead and develop the Digital Solutions team, delivering automation, data and AI solutions that address business needs across Group Functions
• Translate business needs into prioritised improvements and development initiatives
• Ensure that information security and relevant compliance requirements are addressed throughout the application lifecycle
• Drive modernisation and the adoption of cloud, AI and automation
• Manage service performance, costs and vendor delivery against agreed commitments
• Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, vendors and partners to strengthen governance, compliance and value realisation

Your profile

You have experience leading teams and delivering results in complex IT environments while driving change and continuous improvement. You are comfortable collaborating with stakeholders across functions.

Key qualifications and experience

• Academic degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
• Proven experience leading application management and development, combining reliable service delivery with digital transformation
• Strong understanding of service lifecycle management and continuous improvement
• Experience developing service roadmaps and prioritising business needs
• Experience managing and developing application services supporting corporate functions is considered an advantage
• Experience managing IT vendors and following up service delivery and costs
• Understanding of information security and compliance requirements in application management
• Experience driving organisational and technology transformation in complex environments
• Experience from large, complex and global organisations
• Experience from the defence industry is considered an advantage
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Fluency in both Swedish and English, both written and spoken
