Pricing & Monetization Expert (Remote)

🧬 About us

We’re iubenda, the team turning compliance into a growth engine. We help over 110K businesses all around the world build trust, boost performance, and grow without limits. Now part of team.blue (https://team.blue/), we’re scaling privacy tech with confidence, creativity, and a little bit of attitude. Join a team that moves fast, thinks big, and makes privacy feel exciting again!

🎯 Mission & Core Purpose

As a Pricing & Monetization Expert, you'll be the person behind the logic of how iubenda makes money. You'll dig into usage and revenue data to find where we leave value on the table, from price increases on the existing base and country- and currency-based pricing to new segments, packaging and add-ons. You'll model the impact (churn, revenue uplift, timing) and own the recommendation and the revenue result.

You'll be hands-on from day one: designing and analysing pricing experiments, building forecasts, and working side by side with our BI team and the Growth team. We operate in a mature, competitive market rather than a hypergrowth one, so every gain comes from smart, evidence-based decisions.

You'll report to Raffaele Negro, VP of Growth, who leads all self-serve growth at iubenda.

💼 Key Responsibilities

Pricing & packaging

• Own the pricing and packaging strategy across iubenda products: price increases on long-standing customers still on legacy pricing, country- and currency-based pricing, and new customer segments, with the option of different structures or products for specific customer clusters.

• Generate your own hypotheses from usage and revenue data, and bring them to the VP of Growth with a clear business case.

• Define pricing and packaging for new product launches and new markets.

• Own the free-to-paid upgrade path from a pricing and packaging perspective.

Modeling & forecasting

• Model the impact of every change before it ships: expected churn, revenue uplift and timing (for example, how many existing customers we expect to lose if we raise prices in a given country).

• Build and maintain revenue forecasts, so we know when new revenue will land, and track them against actuals.

• Combine product usage data with financial revenue data, together with the BI team.

Pricing experimentation

• Design, run and analyse pricing and conversion experiments (price points, plans, paywalls, upgrade prompts), with statistical rigor.

• Align with the CRO/Growth team on any test that touches the website or product surfaces.

• Decide whether to ship, stop, or iterate based on the results.

Add-on & expansion monetization

• Define which add-ons and upgrades to offer to which segments of the existing paid base, and when, based on usage signals and account maturity.

• Work with the marketing teams that execute campaigns, so the logic behind every offer comes from you.

• Track add-on attach rate and expansion MRR, and adjust priorities accordingly.

💡 Experience & Skills

Must haves

• At least 3-5 years in pricing, monetization or revenue growth at a subscription business (SaaS or digital subscriptions). E-commerce experience alone is not ideal.

• Hands-on experience personally running pricing or conversion experiments (A/B tests), backed by a solid statistical background.

• Strong modeling and forecasting skills: you can estimate the impact of a change, such as expected churn from a price increase, before it ships.

• A track record of originating pricing or packaging changes, building the business case and driving them to measurable revenue impact, not just executing plans designed by others.

• Experience with multi-currency and multi-country pricing.

• Daily, hands-on work with data: advanced Excel and a BI tool such as Power BI or Looker Studio.

• Comfort using AI tools in your daily workflow.

• A clear, concise communicator who builds arguments with data and works well alongside BI and CRO colleagues.

• Full proficiency in English.

Nice to haves

• Background in legal tech, privacy or a direct competitor, or in companies that grew fast through pricing changes.

• Pricing work for a country or product launch.

• Success in a mature, competitive market rather than hypergrowth.

• Experience with SQL/BigQuery, Stripe or Adobe Analytics.

• CRO and product-led growth knowledge.

👤 How you'll work with others

You are the person who decides what to do about the data, not the person who executes someone else's plan.

• VP of Growth: you bring ideas, models, and recommendations, and agree the way forward together.

• BI team: a small team analysing product usage data, which you'll combine with financial revenue data. You work with them day to day.

• Growth: you brief them on tests that touch the website or product surfaces, and a CRO background on your side helps you connect pricing changes to conversion effects.

• Product and Marketing: you shape what gets built and promoted around pricing, packaging, and add-ons.

➕ What Success Looks Like

In your first three months you are working autonomously, with a clear view of where we stand and your first initiatives in motion.

• Month 1: onboarding, learning the products, customers, pricing history and data.

• Months 2-3: a clear snapshot of the current monetization status, your first initiatives and campaigns in place, and a plan for what to test and build next. Results are a bonus at this stage; autonomy and direction are the goal.

Ongoing KPIs

• Free-to-paid conversion rate, tracked monthly.

• Add-on attach rate and expansion MRR from the existing paid base.

• A live, prioritized backlog of monetization initiatives that you originated, beyond what others hand over.
