About the role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Compute Platform team. You will design, build, and operate the core services that provision and manage compute resources for Nebius AI Cloud customers, working closely with infrastructure, networking, and GPU platform teams.
What you’ll do
- Design and implement reliable, scalable backend services for compute lifecycle management (provisioning, scheduling, monitoring, and decommissioning).
- Own features end-to-end: API design, implementation, testing, rollout, and on-call support for your components.
- Improve system performance, availability, and operability; drive down incident rate and mean time to recovery.
- Collaborate with SRE and platform engineers on observability, capacity planning, and automation.
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions; mentor engineers on the team.
- Work with product and customer-facing teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
What we’re looking for
- Strong experience building production backend systems in Go, C++, or similar languages.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and fault-tolerant design.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration in production environments.
- Experience with public cloud or large-scale private cloud infrastructure.
- Comfortable working in Linux environments and debugging complex production issues.
- Clear written and verbal communication in English.
Nice to have
- Experience with GPU workloads, HPC, or ML training/inference platforms.
- Background in infrastructure APIs, control planes, or multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
- Contributions to open-source projects in cloud-native or systems space.
- Experience with Terraform, Helm, or similar IaC tooling.
