Job description

Drones that fly longer change what's possible. Faster inspections. More effective surveillance. Longer-range logistics. But most drone batteries cap out too soon.

Tulip Tech designs and manufactures high-density battery systems that push drone flight time 30 to 100% further than standard technology. Built in Den Bosch, Netherlands. Backed by the Dutch Ministry of Defence. Trusted by leading drone companies including Acecore, Percepto, and DeltaQuad.

We are not a software company with a hardware attachment. We are engineers who design cells, build packs, run tests, and scale production. Everything under one roof, built to last.

Why this role matters:

From our headquarters in the Netherlands, we are rapidly expanding our B2B customer base across Europe while our operations in the United States and Ukraine continue to scale.

As Head of Sales, you will lead the Dutch B2B sales organisation and be responsible for driving revenue growth across strategic customers, OEMs, system integrators, defence organisations and other commercial partners.

This is a hands-on B2B sales leadership role. You will coach and develop the team, personally lead our largest and most complex commercial opportunities and build the sales organisation required to scale.

You will work closely with the CCO, management team and colleagues across Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Customer Success and Finance while helping turn technical customer requirements into long-term commercial partnerships.

What you will achieve:

• Lead, coach and develop the sales team through weekly pipeline meetings, regular 1:1s, deal coaching, performance management and continuous technical and commercial training.

• Personally lead and close our largest and most strategic deals, developing relationships with OEMs, C-level executives, government and defence organisations, system integrators and other key customers.

• Own sales performance, including pipeline management, forecasting, revenue targets, conversion, deal velocity and CRM discipline, while stepping into complex or at-risk opportunities when needed.

• Develop strategic accounts, identify new business opportunities and build long-term customer relationships that drive sustainable revenue growth across existing and new markets.

• Build and continuously improve a scalable sales organization, including sales processes, qualification criteria, deal reviews, compensation structures and the sales technology stack.

• Own the Dutch P&L, including revenue, margins, cost base and budget management, while aligning commercial activities with Marketing, Engineering, Operations and Finance.

• Provide clear monthly and quarterly reporting to the CCO and management team on sales performance, pipeline development, key opportunities, commercial risks and growth initiatives.

What we are looking for:

• BSc or MSc degree in Business, Engineering, International Business, Technology or another relevant commercial or technical field.

• 8+ years of proven B2B sales experience, including several years in a sales leadership role within a technical or industrial environment, preferably involving complex hardware or engineered products.

• Demonstrated track record of developing new business, managing strategic accounts and personally closing complex, high-value B2B deals with OEMs, enterprise customers or other senior decision-makers.

• Proven experience leading, coaching and scaling sales teams, including performance management, forecasting, commercial target ownership and individual deal coaching.

• Strong experience selling technically complex products, with the ability to understand engineering requirements, navigate longer sales cycles and communicate effectively with both technical and commercial stakeholders.

• Strong commercial and operational capabilities across negotiation, pricing, financial management, pipeline development, CRM systems and building scalable sales processes.

• Entrepreneurial and hands-on leadership style, with excellent communication skills, fluency in English and willingness to travel internationally. Dutch is a strong plus.

Nice to have

• Experience within UAVs, defence technology, aerospace, robotics, electronics, battery technology or advanced manufacturing.

• An existing network within drone manufacturers, OEMs, defence organisations, system integrators or aerospace companies.

• Experience working with government organisations or navigating defence procurement processes.

• Experience building and scaling a commercial organisation during rapid international growth.

• International commercial experience, particularly in the Netherlands, United States or other European markets.

• Experience with HubSpot or similar CRM platforms and sales technology tools.

What we offer

• Competitive salary based on experience, including a performance-based bonus package.

• 38 paid days off per year (25 vacation + 13 ADV via CAO Metaal & Techniek).

• 8% holiday allowance, travel reimbursement and pension via PMT.

• Daily lunch provided by the company.

• Significant ownership over Tulip Tech's Dutch sales organisation, commercial strategy and future team development.

• Direct access to the full product chain, from customer requirements and engineering through manufacturing and battery deployment.

• A central role in scaling a Dutch deep tech manufacturer across Europe, the United States and Ukraine.
