Head of Marketing

Job description

Drones that fly longer change what's possible. Faster inspections. More effective surveillance. Longer-range logistics. But most drone batteries cap out too soon.

At Tulip Tech, we develop and manufacture high-density battery systems that extend drone flight time by 30–100% compared with standard technology. Based in Den Bosch, we’re backed by the Dutch Ministry of Defence and work with leading drone companies, including Acecore and DeltaQuad.

We’re looking for a Head of Marketing to help bring our technology to more customers and strengthen Tulip’s position in the market.

Why this role matters

As Head of Marketing, you will shape Tulip’s marketing vision and strategy, building a strong foundation for our next stage of growth.

You’ll define how we position ourselves in the market, communicate our value and turn our technical capabilities into a compelling competitive advantage. You’ll build and lead a high-performing marketing team, fostering talent development and working effectively with agencies and external partners to deliver impact.

Working closely with CCO, Sales, Product and other teams, you’ll strengthen Tulip’s position in the high-density UAV battery market and drive commercial growth across our international markets in the Netherlands, Ukraine, and the US.

What you will own

• Own Tulip’s marketing strategy, annual plan, roadmap, budget and OKRs, aligning priorities with the company’s commercial objectives.

• Build and lead a marketing team that can scale with Tulip’s commercial ambitions, managing team development and working closely with agencies and external partners effectively.

• Translate commercial priorities into focused marketing initiatives that support customer acquisition, sales progression and revenue growth.

• Establish Tulip as the go-to partner for high-density UAV batteries, with a clear value proposition, consistent messaging and a strong market presence.

• Build a compelling brand narrative grounded in technical performance, real-world validation, customer partnerships and European supply-chain resilience.

• Ensure consistent brand positioning and messaging across Europe, the US and Ukraine, covering the website, sales materials, PR, partnerships and other channels.

• Equip regional sales teams with compelling, technically credible materials and customer proof points that help engage decision-makers and advance opportunities.

• Work closely with Sales to identify buying barriers, improve deal conversion and ensure marketing activities contribute to pipeline development and revenue growth.

• Track marketing performance and report effectiveness and pipeline contribution to the CCO, using insights to continuously improve results.

Job requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (HBO/WO) in marketing, communications, or equivalent practical experience.

• 8+years of B2B marketing experience, including a few years of shaping and leading a marketing team.

• Experience developing and executing account-based marketing strategies for high-value B2B accounts, working closely with Sales throughout complex, long sales cycles.

• Proven experience translating a marketing strategy into effective execution, delivering measurable results aligned with commercial objectives.

• Experience translating positioning and messaging into consistent marketing output across multiple regions and cultures.

• Hands-on experience with HubSpot or a comparable CRM and marketing automation platform, including lead scoring, routing, nurturing and funnel reporting.

• Strong affinity with technology and engineering.

• Fluency in English and willingness to travel internationally.

Nice to have:

• Experience in the drone, UAVs, defense-tech ecosystem, robotics, advanced manufacturing or similar field.

• International market experience, particularly in the Netherlands, Ukraine, United States or other European markets.

• Dutch language skills.

What we offer

• Competitive salary based on experience.

• 38 paid days off per year (25 vacation + 13 ADV via CAO Metaal & Techniek).

• 8% holiday allowance, travel reimbursement and pension via PMT.

• Daily lunch provided by the company.

• A leadership role with real ownership, reporting directly to the CCO of a fast-scaling, PE-backed company.

• A central role in scaling a Dutch deep tech manufacturer across Europe, the United States and Ukraine.
