About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

Role Description

Salesforce has immediate opportunities for Software Engineers who want their lines of code to have significant and measurable positive impact for users, the company's bottom line, and the industry. You will be working with a group of world-class engineers to build the breakthrough features our customers will love, adopt, and use while keeping our trusted CRM platform stable and scalable. The software engineer role at Salesforce encompasses architecture, design, implementation, and testing to ensure we build products right and release them with high quality.

We pride ourselves on writing high quality, maintainable code that strengthens the stability of the product and makes our lives easier. We embrace the hybrid model and celebrate the individual strengths of each team member while cultivating everyone on the team to grow into the best version of themselves. We believe that autonomous teams with the freedom to make decisions will empower the individuals, the product, the company, and the customers they serve to thrive.

As a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS), Software Engineering, your job responsibilities will include:

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and build secrets management features: Deliver secure, well-tested components for our core Secrets product, contributing to the architecture for multi-cloud Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments used for secret storage, access, and distribution.

• Operate mission-critical services: Help build and run highly sensitive, "Tier 0" services — writing scalable, resilient code, participating in on-call, and debugging distributed-systems issues to keep secret access reliable and low-latency.

• Apply cryptography and zero-trust identity: Work hands-on with PKI, X.509, and cryptographic primitives to implement features such as dynamic secret generation, automated key rotation, device identity, and zero-trust authentication, with guidance from senior technical leads on direction.

• Implement secure secret distribution: Build and harden features for secure credential delivery, supporting real-time and non-real-time communication across heterogeneous networks with strict access controls and a focus on minimizing blast radius.

• Raise engineering quality: Provide thorough code reviews, improve test coverage and tooling, and mentor junior engineers on the team.

• Build and ship high-quality, production-grade software using modern engineering practices, with AI as a core part of your development workflow by pushing the boundaries of AI development tools to deliver secure, optimized, and high-quality code.

• Design and orchestrate complex systems where AI agents integrate seamlessly into human workflows, driving efficiency and innovation at scale.

• Contribute to building and maintaining the shared system context, an explicit repository of system designs, constraints, and standards that enables AI to operate accurately and reliably.

• Critically evaluate code (Human or AI-generated) for correctness, quality, security, and performance.

• A demonstrated, genuine AI-first approach to engineering. Using AI to move faster, build fluency across the stack, and contribute well beyond your core specialty.

• Experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor, etc.) in development workflows.

• Advanced prompt engineering skills and the ability to write precise, structured prompts and cultivate the system context that makes AI outputs reliable, secure, and production-ready.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in a software development role at a product-based software technology company.

• 3+ years of development experience in public cloud environments (AWS preferred; GCP a plus).

• Hands-On Engineering & Data: Strong, hands-on programming expertise in Golang, Java, C#, Python, Rust, or C/C++, with experience building highly available, scalable services backed by relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Postgres, DynamoDB, Cassandra).

• Cloud-Native Architecture & Infrastructure: Solid working knowledge of cloud computing, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and core distributed networking (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing).

• Security & Open Source: Applied knowledge of cloud security design, Secrets Management (HashiCorp Vault experience a plus), PKI/X.509, and OWASP principles.

•
Engineering Craft & Collaboration: Proven ability to design and deliver well-architected components, work effectively across teams with strong problem-solving skills.
