Ad Monetization Manager

Own ad monetization end to end: from mediation and experiments to revenue growth, measurement, and optimization — without compromising retention or subscription conversion.

ArtWorkout is a mobile drawing education app available on iOS and Android. We help people learn how to draw from scratch through structured courses and daily practice. Our monetization model combines subscriptions and advertising. We are building a sustainable Ads + IAP balance that allows us to grow revenue without compromising the user experience.

Work Format: Remote, Full-time, Working hours aligned with UTC+3

Role Mission

• Your goal will be to develop and optimize our advertising monetization strategy, sustainably increasing ARPDAU and Ad LTV without negatively affecting retention or subscription conversion.
• You will own the entire advertising monetization ecosystem — from mediation and waterfalls to placement experiments and relationships with ad networks.

Responsibilities

• Manage mediation platforms such as AppLovin MAX, AdMob, and ironSource, including waterfalls, in-app bidding, eCPM floors, frequency, caps, and pacing
• Run A/B tests across ad placements, formats (rewarded, interstitial, banners, MREC), timing, triggers, and rewards
• Scale ad networks including Unity, Pangle, Mintegral, Vungle, and others, while evaluating incremental revenue impact
• Ensure ad quality through blocklists, sensitive-category controls, brand safety measures, and handling user complaints
• Collaborate closely with Product and User Acquisition teams to balance Ads vs. Subscriptions, analyze the impact on retention and paying conversion, and identify synergies with new features and content releases
• Own analytics and reporting across ARPDAU, eCPM, Fill/Match Rate, IMP/DAU, Ad LTV, and Ad ARPU by cohort, geography, device, and app version
• Automate monetization processes through floor and priority rules, scripts, alerts, and BI integrations such as ClickHouse and Redash
• Build and manage a structured experimentation process: hypothesis → test design → launch → analysis → scaling
• Support releases, including SDK and adapter updates, technical integrations, and compliance with ATT, COPPA, and GDPR requirements

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in mobile app advertising monetization; experience in F2P, EdTech, lifestyle, or fitness apps would be an advantage
• Hands-on experience with AppLovin MAX, AdMob, and/or ironSource, with a practical understanding of waterfall vs. bidding models
• Strong product analytics skills, including Excel/Google Sheets and experience defining metrics and dashboards; basic SQL is a plus
• Experience negotiating with ad networks and account managers, including securing beta access and customized commercial terms
• English proficiency sufficient for written communication and calls with partners
• AI tools as part of your everyday workflow

Nice to Have

• Experience with subscription-based apps and a strong understanding of the Ads vs. Subscription trade-off
• Experience with BI tools such as Redash, Metabase, or Looker, as well as Python scripting for automation
• Proven cases of preventing subscription cannibalization and managing the impact of advertising on retention

Key KPIs

• Ads ARPDAU across target geographies and devices
• eCPM and Fill/Match Rate by ad format and network
• Ad LTV / Ad ARPU by cohort
• IMP/DAU and RPM without negatively impacting R1/R3/R7 retention or subscription conversion
• Share of bidding vs. waterfall traffic and incremental revenue generated by new networks and experiments
