Now, we're looking for a Full-Stack Django Developer to take ownership of the maintenance, enhancement, and continued evolution of our Data Registry application.

The Data Registry is a self-service platform that enables employees across Husqvarna to discover data assets, request access to data, manage teams, and access Databricks workspaces and other data platform capabilities.

Developed and maintained internally by the Big Data team, the application sits on top of Databricks and Unity Catalog, providing a unified, governed, and user-friendly experience for data consumers and data producers alike.

Through the Data Registry, users can:

• Discover and understand available data assets
• Identify data owners and stewards
• Request and manage access to data
• Join and manage Databricks teams
• Administer Data Mesh resources through a self-service experience

As a Full-Stack Django Developer, you will play a key role in shaping the future of this platform. Working across both front-end and back-end development, you will design and implement new features, improve the user experience, maintain platform reliability, and help scale a business-critical application used across Husqvarna's Data Mesh.

You will be joining a small and highly skilled core team that has developed and continues to evolve the Data registry platform.

The team supports and guides more than 47 teams across the organization and enables a network of over 100 Databricks workspaces utilizing the Data Mesh architecture.

Your Role

As a Full-Stack Django Developer, you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain the Data registry using the python-based framework, Django, across both front-end and back-end layers.
• Build responsive, user-friendly interfaces primarily using Django templates and HTMX, complemented by HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other modern web technologies where appropriate.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services critical to the reliability of the platform
• Take ownership of application architecture, performance optimization, scalability, and maintainability.
• Ensure security best practices, cloud infrastructure management, primarily in AWS
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, Data Engineers, Architects, and DevOps teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
• Implement robust security, authentication, authorization, and data protection mechanisms.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient software delivery.
• Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions with developers.

Must-Have Skills

• Django – Extensive experience developing full-stack web applications using Django.
• Front-End Development – Hands-on experience with HTMx, Django templates, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive web design principles.
• API Integration – Experience integrating third-party services using RESTful APIs
• AWS Cloud Services – Practical experience with CloudFormation, ECS, S3, IAM, and other AWS services.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) – Experience with AWS CloudFormation.
• DevOps & CI/CD – Experience automating build and deployment pipelines using AzureDevOps or similar platforms.
• Version Control – Strong experience with Git and collaborative development practices.
• Database Management – Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or equivalent.
• Application Security – Sound understanding of secure coding practices, authentication, authorization and data protection standards.
• Experience containerizing applications using Docker and orchestrating workloads in
• cloud environments.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools for production applications.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.

Location

This position is exclusively based in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
