Our Product team is building the core financial products that define how customers interact with Plata on a daily basis. Debit Cards and Savings Accounts are at the heart of this experience — they are the primary entry point, the main store of value, and the foundation for long-term customer engagement and monetization.
In Colombia, we are starting from scratch. Your mission will be to design, launch, and scale Plata’s Debit Card and Savings Account products end-to-end, while reusing and adapting the technologies, integrations, and operating models that already work successfully in Mexico.
This is a true product leadership role with strong ownership across customer experience, regulatory alignment, unit economics, and operational execution.
You will define the product strategy and roadmap, lead cross-functional execution, and be accountable for outcomes — not just outputs.
Challenges that await you:
- Own the end-to-end Debit & Savings product lifecycle for Colombia
- Debit card proposition: virtual + physical cards, limits, controls, fees, and everyday usage
- Savings accounts: balance management, interest logic (if applicable), liquidity rules, and customer incentives
- First transaction, first deposit, and long-term active usage
- Alignment with local regulatory requirements (SEDPE / financial regulation)
- Build and scale core Debit Card capabilities
- Define card features and controls: limits, freezes, replacements, PIN management, security settings
- Own card lifecycle flows: issuance, activation, usage, disputes, chargebacks, and blocking
- Work closely with processing, ledger, and risk teams to ensure reliability and scalability
- Continuously improve card usage, transaction success rate, and customer trust
- Launch and optimize Savings Accounts
- Design the savings value proposition (yield, liquidity, rules, incentives)
- Define account behaviors: deposits, withdrawals, transfers, balance visibility
- Optimize customer flows from onboarding to first deposit and recurring usage
- Partner with Finance and Risk to ensure healthy unit economics and balance growth
- Be the owner of metrics
- You will define, monitor, and continuously improve key metrics, including:
- Card activation and usage rate
- Savings account adoption and balance growth
- First deposit conversion and time-to-value
- Transaction success rate and error rates
- Cost to serve and unit economics per active customer
- Customer satisfaction (NPS, CSAT) for core financial journeys
- You will run experiments (A/B tests, pricing tests, UX changes) to continuously improve performance
- Manage and grow a cross-functional product team
- Lead a team that may include Product Managers, Business Analysts, and Engineers
- Set clear goals and success metrics
- Build strong product discovery and delivery processes
- Create a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvements
