Our Product team is building the core payment infrastructure that powers how customers move money — instantly, securely, and at scale.
Payments and transfers are foundational to Plata’s ecosystem: they enable everyday usage, drive account stickiness, unlock monetization, and serve as the backbone for all other financial products.
In Colombia, we are starting from scratch. Your mission will be to design, launch, and scale Plata’s Payments & Transfers stack end-to-end, while reusing and adapting the technologies, integrations, and operating models that already work successfully in Mexico.
This is a senior product leadership role with strong technical, operational, and regulatory exposure. You will own strategy, roadmap, execution, and outcomes across customer experience, reliability, compliance, and unit economics.
Challenges that await you:
Own the end-to-end Payments & Transfers ecosystem for Colombia
You will be accountable for the full lifecycle of money movement, including:
- Account-to-account transfers (inbound and outbound)
- PSE and bank transfers
- Internal transfers between Plata users
- Card-based money movements (where applicable)
- Cash-in / cash-out flows (if applicable)
- First successful transaction and repeat usage
From product design and regulatory alignment to launch, scale, and optimization — you own the entire journey

Lead the evolution of Payments & Transfers products & tools
- Own the product roadmap for all customer-facing payment and transfer journeys
- Define internal tools used by Operations, Finance, Risk, and Customer Support
- Translate regulatory, compliance, and operational needs into clear product requirements
- Prioritize features that improve success rate, scalability, and cost efficiency
Own risk, fraud, and compliance flows in payments
- Work closely with Risk and Compliance to design:
- Transaction monitoring rules
- Velocity limits and thresholds
- Fraud prevention and anomaly detection
- Ensure compliance with AML, SARLAFT, and reporting obligations
- Balance user experience with regulatory and risk constraints
Be the owner of metrics
You will define, monitor, and continuously improve key metrics, including:
- Payment and transfer success rate
- Time-to-settlement and processing SLAs
- Transaction error and reversal rates
- Cost per transaction and overall payment unit economics
- Fraud rate and false positives
- Customer satisfaction (NPS, CSAT) for payments
You will run experiments (A/B tests on flows, limits, pricing, messaging) to optimize performance and adoption.
