About the role:
We are seeking a strategic, analytical, and results-oriented Head of User Acquisition. This role leads growth efforts across our mobile portfolio. Responsibilities include overseeing paid acquisition channels, developing high performing creative strategies in collaboration with the design team, and managing key marketing technologies.
Responsibilities
Paid User Acquisition
- Paid UA Strategy & Execution.
- Design, implement, and manage paid media campaigns across platforms like Apple Search Ads, Google, Meta, and others.
- Maintain and adjust budget forecasts to ensure optimal ROI.
Performance Monitoring & Optimization
- Oversee performance analytics across the entire Smarter Apps product portfolio.
- Utilize real-time data to adjust channel strategies, budget allocation, and campaign structure to optimize CPI, CPA, and LTV.
- Use data to identify growth opportunities and scale successful initiatives.
Creative Collaboration
- Work closely with the creative team to develop and test ad concepts that align with performance goals and brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with the creative production team to define audience segments, improve creative iteration efficiency, and develop new hypothesis-driven concepts.
Conversion Funnel Optimization
- Design and run A/B and multivariate tests to improve acquisition funnel performance. Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and ASO teams to improve conversion rates across the user journey (including app store and onboarding flows).
- Analyze user behavior and identify bottlenecks in the funnel.
Marketing Tech & Reporting
- Build and maintain reporting systems to track performance metrics and surface actionable insights.
- Work with Engineering to configure and manage marketing tools (e.g., MMPs, attribution systems, payment processors).
- Lead technical integrations to improve traffic buying efficiency and enable scaling across new acquisition channels.
- Drive the adoption of modern AI technologies to automate and optimize traffic acquisition processes. Evaluate, test, and implement new technologies or vendors to support sustainable and scalable growth.
Team Leadership
- Build and manage a high-performing UA team as the company scales.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, set development goals, and support team members 9 growth.
- Lead hiring efforts and evaluate team structure to align with business priorities.
- Define and align team KPIs and performance goals with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Establish and continuously improve team processes, workflows, and documentation to ensure operational clarity and scalability.
Requirements
Key Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in user acquisition or performance marketing, with a strong focus on mobile apps. At least 2 years in a lead role, managing UA teams or owning cross-functional growth initiatives.
- Proven track record of scaling paid media campaigns and optimizing funnels using data-driven strategies. Strong analytical mindset with hands-on experience interpreting complex datasets and turning them into actionable growth insights.
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Deep understanding of attribution, analytics, and mobile ad tech platforms (e.g., Appsflyer, Adjust, Firebase).
- Experience working with engineering teams on technical marketing integrations.
- Experience in setting KPIs and performance goals for team members and tracking outcomes.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
- Experience working with apps using various monetization models 4 primarily subscription-based, but also including ad-supported, in-app purchases, paid downloads, and search-driven monetization.
