Perplexity AI is looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to join our team revolutionizing the way people search and interact with the internet. You will be part of our small, but impactful, growth team driving improvements to the end-to-end mobile funnel from first app open through subscription. This is a hands‑on role on a fast‑moving team that ships frequently and learns quickly from real user behavior.
The ideal candidate should have strong programming skills, an interest in search and large language models, and a passion for delivering a great UX backed by a quality UI.
Responsibilities
- Build and iterate on onboarding, sign‑up, paywall, checkout, and retention flows to improve conversion and LTV.
- Run rapid A/B tests and funnel experiments (e.g. UI variants, pricing tests, onboarding flows) and use data to decide what to ship and scale.
- Work cross‑functionally with growth PMs, designers, and data scientists to define hypotheses, prioritize experiments, and measure impact on key metrics (activation, conversion, churn, etc).
- Build and maintain high‑quality, reusable components for growth surfaces (paywalls, modals, tooltips, etc.) and ensure they’re performant and hyper-optimized.
- You will work with the core team to design and implement novel mobile experiences
Qualifications
- 5+ years industry experience
- Strong Swift fundamentals and a proven track record of working with a modern iOS stack built with Swift, SwiftUI (iOS16+) and UIKit
- Experience with experimentation platforms (e.g. Statsig, LaunchDarkly, Firebase A/B Testing) and analytics tools (e.g. Amplitude, Mixpanel, Snowplow).
- Experience with payment integrations (Apple In‑App Purchase, Stripe, RevenueCat) and subscription flows.
- Enjoys the craft of building nice UI, creating a good UX, and writing reusable and testable code
- Understands low-level intricacies, and knows how to profile and measure app performance and speed
- Comfortable working with a small, fast-moving team, and must be willing to dive in and take ownership
- A passion for iOS development, and enjoys experimenting with what's new with each iteration of iOS and iPadOS
